Most organ living donations occur between family members and close friends.

donations are the most common living organ donations, as a single kidney
can perform the function of both organs.
Potential living donors undergo an evaluation to ensure that there is no physical, psychological, or emotional harm before, during, or after the donation, and to determine whether they are suitable donors.
A living donor must be in good health, be between 18 and 60 years of age, and not have suffered from diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, renal failure, or heart disease.
The decision to become an organ donor is truly personal. Potential donors must consider the surgical procedure, possible side effects on their health, as well as the possibility of saving the beneficiary’s life, who may well be a loved one.
