We are equipped with four rooms for the diagnosis
and treatment of diabetic patients and patients with
heart conditions, whose ulcer conditions have not
responded to more traditional treatment.

Our facilities at the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric
Medicine Center are located at our
Torre Médica courtyard.

HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY

This method treats a variety of ailments and requires the
patient to breathe 100% oxygen at low pressure during a
brief period. Patients receive 15 times more oxygen than
they would upon breathing regularly at standard sea-level.

The number of required treatments varies depending on
each individual medical condition. Some urgent conditions
require no more than one or two treatment sessions;
however, most cases require between 20 and 30 sessions.

Diseases and conditions treated with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy:

  • Unhealed wounds on feet or legs of a diabetic patient, and other problematic wounds.
  • Chronic radiation damage on muscle tissue and skin (radiation necrosis)
  • Chronic radiation damage on bone tissue (osteoradionecrosis)
  • Compromised skin grafts or flaps
  • Carbon monoxide inhalation poisoning
  • Chronic skeletal infections (osteomyelitis)
  • Decompression sickness
  • Necrotizing soft tissue infection
  • Gangrene
  • Serious burn injuries
  • Intracranial abscesses
  • Air or gas embolism

Benefits of the Monoplace Hyperbaric Chamber:

  • The possibility of claustrophobia is eliminated with the use of an acrylic (see-through) chamber
  • Entertainment system
  • Patients do not require masks due to the pressurized oxygen in the chamber
  • Pediatric patients can see their parents, which helps them relax more easily
  • Ideal for patients with burns
  • Two-way communication between nurses and patients happens via a secure intercom system, thus avoiding electrical risk

Our hyperbaric chambers are SECHRIST, the most
renowned maker of this equipment for over 35 years.
