INSTITUTIONAL REVIEW BOARD

We are committed to propelling rigorous clinical research that is ethically supervised.

Hospital Auxilio Mutuo supports the development and implementation of clinical research,
with the purpose of creating better treatment alternatives for the communities that we serve.
These processes require institutional follow-up to safeguard the rights of the studies’ participants.

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) operates in our institution
since the 1990’s. IRBs have the responsibility of overseeing
research studies to ensure that they comply with applicable
regulations (federal Department of Health, DHHS and/or the
Food and Drug Administration (FDA)), regulatory ethical
standards, institutional policy, and the appropriate protection
of the study’s participants.

Currently, research is being implemented in our Cancer
Center and Bone Marrow Transplant Center, and
independent investigations are underway in tandem
with the CDC for the monitoring of dengue fever.
Other investigators implement projects in the areas
of renal transplant and surgery, among others.

Due to its commitment with providing the best options
for the communities served by our Hospital, the
infrastructure of investigation is developing so as to
attract new projects and thus making Hospital Auxilio
Mutuo a renowned center for clinical investigation.
