A segment of our Cardiac Surgery Program is dedicated to treating aortic valve stenosis and enhancing the quality of life for patients with this condition.
We utilize TAVR (also known as TAVI), a less invasive transcatheter aortic valve implantation procedure as an alternative to open-heart surgery.

AUSCULTATION
This involves
listening to the
heartbeat using
a stethoscope.
ELECTROCARDIOGRAM
Sensors placed on the skin
measure the heart’s
electrical impulses.
ECHOCARDIOGRAM/ULTRASOUND:
This uses sound waves to
generate an image of
the heart.
THORACIC X-RAY
The size of the radiological thoracic
image can be adjusted to better
reveal calcium deposits in the
aortic valve.
CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION:
A special dye, visible on x-rays,
is injected into the heart via the
arm or pelvis, making the heart
visible on an x-ray image.
